Maya animation tools vs Motion Builder

How do the Maya animation tools compare to MotionBuilder's tools? I have been quite impressed with what I have seen with the Maya animation tools. They seem quite capable. I tried Ligthwave but I prefer Maya. I have also been looking into Cinema4D, the free BodyPaint is very attractive. The thing that keeps pulling me back to Maya is the vast amount of material for learning, especially on the animation side.

I've used motion builder a few times... and honestly, I can't stand using Maya to do character animations. Motionbuilder just makes it so ridiculously easy to get what you want, and a lot faster. It also allows you to layer animations. So say you rough out a walk sequence... you can then make a new layer like photoshop, and start adding secondary animations on top of what you have. It has a much nicer flow in my opinion.

Essentially, everything you do it in it can be done in Maya, but it just makes things easier if you take the time to learn all of it's tools.
