Billboard textures with Z axis locked

Hi All
I'm using quite a few billboards in our game that need the z axis locking. ie. for billboarded characters, flags etc etc. They work fine in out TGE version, but are just acting like normal billboards in TGEA. ie, they face the camera all the time even if you're in the air facing down etc. Does anyone know of something I should be doing? Maybe an entry in the material.cs for that texture?
