TGEA 1.0 crashes on GeForce Go 7300 - driver issue - resolved

I' ve just bought a new laptop, with Intel Core Duo processor, 1GBof RAM and Geforce Go 7300 with 256 MB.
The LCD is 17", 1440 x 900 resolution.
I have installed TGEA to check the performance, but it crashes during the execution - soon after clicking its icon, before any window appears.
I have experienced this problem with Windows Media Center, so I have thought it could be a system compability error and I have installed Windows XP Home - but it's the same.
I have the latest graphics drivers, so could be there is a problem with TGEA and Geforce Go 7300 compatibility?

(I'm on 7600Go = 7300GT derivate so the card itself shouldn't be a problem)

One thing you might need to do is install DX 9.0 Dec 06. Normally you have Jun 06 from past games, only recent games have a newer on their disc.(I'm on 7600Go = 7300GT derivate so the card itself shouldn't be a problem)

Having a too old driver should make Direct3D fail in GfxDevice and return an error message, however.

I found more recent one on Packard Bell support site - version 84.74.
After installing the newer one TGEA runs correctly now :)
Thank you for your help.

I'm not sure should I eliminate this thread from Bugs now?

No no. These threads are for everyone, not just the poster. If someone runs into the same issue as yourself he can find the solution in this thread. That's the point with forums.
