ShapeReplicate ???

Does anyone know of a reference to the ShapeReplicate or FoliageReplicate tools?
I can't find anything at all about these things anywhere, even Google had zero hits.
I'm trying to find out:
(a) What's the difference between ShapeReplicate and FoliageReplicate - does Shape work with dif and Foliage work with dts, or doesn't it matter?
(b) Someone mentioned a GrassReplicate tool on this forum, but I don't have that on my copy of Torque (1.4.2), where is it?
(c) I'm getting a "texture not power of two" error when FoliageReplicate loads a tree dts file. I don't get that error when I load the tree normally, and they all have a 1024x1024 texture.

Why do you need the GrassReplicator, when we have the FoliageReplicater?

As an artiest, i don't read code, so pointing to the resource again doesn't answer my question.

Respectfully.

I see the link, but it says nothing about what is different, in fact id wager that that old resource is the now part of FoliageReplicater. As an artiest, i don't read code, so pointing to the resource again doesn't answer my question.

Its a matter of taste !

I never would have guessed it needed a billboard.
Why isn't that info posted anywhere???
Even the two GrassRep links above don't say they need a billboard.
All it says is it uses an alpha texture, but dts uses those too.
It appears the difference between GrassRep and FoliageRep is that
the grass has to sway and LOD in a coherent manner.

In what ways? I cant tell a difference from that resource. It doesn't say anything about it, the only thing i have to go on is it was written in 2002.
The FX Foliage does this also.
That resource doesn't say anything about why this would be better than the other, and from what i can tell, The foliage rep, does everything the grass one does. And they are both really old resources.

I think the best way is if you test it and see how it looks.
One major difference is that you can change color top/bottom on the grass-replicator.
And it looks different when you use it for some foliage.
Its not a matter of better, more a matter of some small differences that makes it usable.

for dts files you use shapeReplicator.
for example grass, flowers made as a graphic .png file you use FoliageReplicator or the GrassReplicator.
you can not use dts here !

(c)
The error you get because you load a dts file with the foliageReplicator .
