NOD to .DTS (Quick Responses)

Hi All,
I'm just recently after getting vampire the masquerade redemption and i've been trying to convert the .nod file from it into a dts for torque.
i have two questions.
1) Why do the textures not load onto the mesh in torque.
and
2) Is there any way to get the animation files merged with the model file and export as a dts file.
Quick responses would be greatly appreciated

I would suggest checking to see if your model is textured and animated in milkshape before trying to export it to dts. Also check the torque console (or console.log) to see if any missing textures are reported when loading the dts.

Have you set up your datablock for your model to make sure that the animations are actually being addressed?

You will have to make sure that your UV map is in the same folder as your model. It may not be correctly exporting the UV map. I've not used the Milkshape exporter in a long, long time and don't remember much about my experience with it back in the day. Have you set up your datablock for your model to make sure that the animations are actually being addressed?

For the texture one more thing you want check is power of 2 (128 x 128, 128 x 256, etc.).

Does it animate in Milkshape? Have you tried the Milkshape forums?

1. Yes, textures via Materials do work.
2. Yes, you can preload a DTS shape with sequences; or compile at runtime a DTS & DSQ files.
Forget the Milkshape3D forums; they're for people whom have never modelled before[what's a Tri? how do you animate?] and the answers, geared toward TORQUE and DTS/DSQ, would be best found here...or at the GGE_group=lowEndz....where ALL lowEnd modelling package users are welcomed. Questions are anwered, perhaps some free rigs are dispensed....;). See ya there. Oh yeah, get ahold of a text editor or IDE....nothing happens in Torque without scripting it to happen...

I know Milkshape and the DTSPlus! exporter very, very well. What exactly do you need/want to do; if possible, send me the files and I will take a look and give a decent answer back on your issue.1. Yes, textures via Materials do work.

The main reason that I pointed him to the MS forums was because he is taking a model from Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption and exporting it. I'm not sure if anyone here knows the specifics of the VtMR support inside of Milkshape. There are a lot of people who can help with making and animating in Milkshape from the ground up or importing and animating from other formats, but nothing which automatically uses proprietary model formats and then converts it. It could be as simple as realigning root poses or as difficult as reboning.
It's great that a Low End group was created on GGE, though. That'll be a great place to send people for discussions!

1) No idea. It all depends on what or even how you are converting the ".nod" to a dts.
2) Yes, the dts format supports packing animations into the model file. However, as with the above answer, i don't know what you are using to convert the ".nod" to a dts, so i can't suggest anything.
In any case, good luck.
