You'd have to talk to Sierra about that one. Personally I am just waiting for someone to recreate the Alpha Tech release using the Torque!

Starsiege was such a fantastic game!

I played it constantly until servers started running weapons restriction mods. Only pansies feared the smart gun.

Rick if you or any of the other former Dynamix guys that worked on Starsiege and the first Tribes are ever feeling down, just drop me a line man. I'll spend an hour detialing why you're all Gods and why other developers aren't even worthy of groveling at your feet.

I've never played Starsiege =(

Wouldn't there need to be a big public demand in order to get sierra to make a patch?

Well, it's obvious Sierra doesn't really give a crap about Startsiege very much right now. But the at first sign that the Giant Robot genre might be making a huge comeback on the PC, don't be too surprised if your former bosses come knocking on your door...

As for using the Torque Engine to remake the ATRs that's a darn good idea, I'm guessing (hopeing) that it would be difficult to create HERCs and the like with it.

Starsiege in my humble opinion is still the best online game I have played. The game is still played and new maps and Mods are still being produced and there is a fierce gang of players who regularly play. I would love to see an upgrade/patch come out of Sierra, but I don't believe that will happen any time soon.

I too would like to say thanks to Rick and the team fro the game and all the hard work and polotics that he had to endure to get the game out.

Thanks Rick.

Well, We all would love a patch for SS, but since Sierria is a bit lazy and sitting on their hands . . . oh and that little bit about fireing Dynamix! . . . we all can only hope for a StarSiege II. As for the Smart GUn that somebody mentioned, fear the new Plasma Gun for it makes the Smart Gun look like the class Dunce

I like Starsiege. I still play it, just not as often. It would be cool to make a SS2 but i dont think it will happen soon...

Before I read this post section, I had actually thought about making a Starsiege2 off of the Torque engine. I still play that game 24/7, best game in the world. One question though.. what program did the team use to create the herc.dts files? 3Dmax2.5? If so, where can I get a copy of this?

There is a Mecha game being built with the Torque Game engine. Check out this recent snapshot galley post www.garagegames.com/mg/snapshot/view.php?qid=202. More shots here www.eventalpha.com/screenshot.html.

Max is out to of the price range for many here. We also have a Milkshape exporter that creates DTS files. It is in its early stages but is enough to get your project off the ground. Might be good to talk to Event Alpha guys too.

Or a Battledrome ATR using the new engine would be good
also.
I dream about that game being remade for the net with it's real time ladder and all.

I still play SS myself, and I believe Marlboro does as well.

I don't see how Sierra could ever restart the project, considering that Sierra essentially no longer exists. There's just Vivendi now.

I'd love to see a SS2, and I'm sure it would do pretty well, but like anyone could ever convince them to actually stop making bass fishing games long enough to do so.
