Triangle Stripping

Trying to test the new triangle-stripping feature in 0.93 operational (THANK YOU Joseph!).
I have Blender 2.42a installed clean using Python 2.4.4 and an Environment variable set to point to Python which Blender has recognized when it starts. Also I've installed VTK - 5.0.2 on my machine but when I enable Triangle Stripping, my model is still not generated using strips.
Is there something else required to get the exporter to connect to VTK that I'm missing?

One thing that I'm noticing, it does not appear to matter if I select the enable button or not in the exporter for stripping. If I set it to smooth, the model looks like it uses stripping wether I enable stripping or not in the General tab of the exporter.

Hmm, maybe its not working after all. If I turn smoothing on for anything in my model, the entire object appears one color (magenta) in ShowTool Stripping mode. If I turn smooting off, I get every triangle a different color.

Is there a reason to use VTK? I was under the impression that it was necessary to make the stripping work.
Thanks for all you help!

The log showed that the stripper could not be found when set to VTK. I switched back to QAD and it does appear to be working correctly now.Is there a reason to use VTK? I was under the impression that it was necessary to make the stripping work.
