Your opinion appreciated - book or web to learn scripting.

I'm not sure if it should go here, but I figured the public forum would be irrelevant as most people wouldn't code if they are there.

I often think I have TGE / TGB cracked, and then I stumble across a scripting problem which takes ages to solve.

For example I wanted to use the mouse to drag sprites around in TGB. Simple enough hey? Well it took about 2 hours of trawling the GG pages to find an up to date solution.

And I stumble on Torque script syntax all the time. Mind you I have mainly been creating assets and not code since I started.

I wanted to ask, should I buy the Torque Programmers Guide or just continue to trawl through GG pages as my reference for programming? I have both of K.Finneys tomes at this stage. Would getting the Programmer Guide help me?

To other people do you find that the GG pages are disorganised and difficult to find solutions?

Finally has anyone noticed that the search engine doesn't always work? For example if you know there is an article called "My Pet Babel Fish" and you type that in, it never comes up in the search, but you know it's there???

Yes buy Game Programmers Guide to Torque. You'll learn a lot about torque scripting by reading it, and it's a great referance guide. It's kinda hard sometimes to find solutions sometimes especially if you dont know the correct words to use in your search.
