Gpgt & Vista

I have vista on my computer and I was wondering how to get GPGT to work. I don't know what the problem is being that I have torque installed and it works fine. But when I go to run the kit it acts like it's going to boot up and then it collapses. How can I fix this??

I had the same problem but just "fixed" it today. Here is what i did - it might work for you ( im using the TGE demo from the CD):
1. Install the game demo somewhere on your harddrive.
2. Follow the instructions from chapter 14 and set up the maze runner game on your harddrive (remember you need to copy EVERYTHING from the place you installed the demo, into the mazerunner directory) - check that the maze runner game works.
3. Make an exact copy of the mazerunner directory and rename it - i called mine "Lessons".
4. Go to the CD-rom and locate the "GPGT LessonKit" directory. Copy all the contents from this directory to the folder you just renamed (eg."Lessons"). When Vista complains about identical files tell it to overwrite everything.
5. Run the "Demo.exe" file in the directory you renamed (eg."Lessons") - note that the gpgt.exe file wont work, but the copied demo file will. And shebang the lesson kit is running...
Offcourse im not sure if this works on other machines than mine. Windows machines often seem to have a mind of their own - and Vista even more so.
Good luck.

Thanks are due to Rasmus Boserup - it took me five minutes to fix my problem getting the "Hall of Worlds" to run with the GPGT Lesson Kit by following your simple and clear directions. I also have Vista, and this worked great!

1. Are you running the kit off your hard drive or trying to run it off the CD? If you are running it off the CD, please copy it to the hard drive and try again.
2. If the above suggestion does not work, please give me a run down on the exact steps you're taking to run this, including filenames and file paths. Also, please take a look at the log file. It should give a hint as to why the game isn't starting.
Thanks,
