Problems with Quark

by Tim Lei · in Artist Corner · 06/03/2002 (9:46 pm) · 11 replies

When using the quark map editor, I install it into my computer but does not seem to work properly. It start up fine and everything but when I make a new map of any sort, the only thing that shows up is the light entities and nothing else including the walls, portals or textures. Can anyone help me with this problem?

What version of QuArK are you using? Are you setting Torque as the game mode?

Are you setting Torque as the game mode?
Are you using the Torque entities in the map?
Send me a sample map that's causing you problems.

Hi Tim,

I am having the sample problem as yours.
I try QuArK 3.6c, 3.6e, and QuArK4Torque. But all got the same result. For both new map, or re-open existing map. Not Walls can be created in a map and only entities can.

I try to create just a cube on a map. but the cube shows it has problem in the tree view. And Didn't show up in the map plan view. Then I right click on the cube in the tree view, and then a python console pupup and show error...

please let me know if you have solve this problem.

Thanks.

I believe Q4T has been integrated into the standard QuArK download. :-)

I have a problem with 3D view, i can not see and edit in a 3D window that quark provides, it prompts me such a file gfx/palette.lmp that couldn't be found even load a map from sdk( for example graethall0.map), im using Quark 6.4.

I download the Quark 6.3 but cannot see the default map, and I can't add a cube in the map view. It just didn't work.

I am assuming that this is like the other error we were seeing - that the objects exist in the heirarchy view but not in the display views.

What OS/Video Card/Driver versions are you using?

I tested on 2 PC:

Windows 2000
PIII 1GHz
384MB RAM
GeForce 2 MX 32M w/nVidia driver v53.03

Windows XP
Athlon 900MHz
640MB RAM
GeForce 2 GTS 32M w/nVidia driver v53.03

Edit: After change the interface to English, I can get it running properly.

Edit: It should be the default language in Regional setting, I choose English (US) then everything fine.

The language of interface (menu and dialog) doesn't really matter.

It sounds like this would be a good bug to point out to the Quark development community.
