Interiors not working?

I'm building some test maps to help expand my knowledge of Torque (I just got my license a week or two ago). Whenever I insert an interior onto the map and have it cut through the terrain, the terrain still appears at the opening into the interior and I can't enter. I know it's possible to have interiors that cut into the terrain because one of the FPS starter pack maps has an interior just like that, as does every SS2845 test map.
I thought that it was something that would Just Work(tm), but do I have to do anything special to be able to enter those interiors and not have the terrain coming through them?

From time to time, you may need to cut holes in your terrains to make way for the intrances to your interiors. The same holds true for interiors that need to be a little sunken into the landscape.
Check out this pic . . .
You will need to select a terrain square and "turn it off" in the world editor. Unfortunately, due to the repeating nature of TGE terrains, the holes that you create will be cloned for every tile. So if your players will be doing some extended exploring, make sure they don't find a duped hole somewhere out in the wilderness. Cover some of those up with detail object, debris, etc.
I hope this helps.
