Girls Love Fizzball

I saw this game as an IGF finalist and immediately thought, "oh wow, my girlfriend would love this". Sure enough she did! I immediately purchased it for her and a day later took my laptop to my buddy's house for his neice and wife to try. Impressions follow with names changed to protect the innocent:

"Jules"- 28 years old. MS Employee. Likes Hello Kitty, anything pink and Beyonce.
Currently playing: Hello Kitty Carnival, Nancy Drew games.
Quotable Quote: "Aren't you cold?"
Impressions:
"Wow, this is silly!"
"I like it when I hit the turtles"
"Did I just play for an hour?!"
Overall quite enjoyable for her. I haven't seen her play a game for more than an hour other than Nancy Drew or GhostMaster.

"Mikah"- 9 years old. Mother of over a 100 stuffed animals. Likes horses, ponies and puppies.
Currently playing: Kirby DS, Wii Baseball
Quotable Quote: "I have ponies on my phone"
Impressions:
"Where's the ponies?"
"Yeah! Ponies!"
"This is easy.. I like it when I rescue animals"
Certainly a bit of glee that I haven't seen from her playing other games. Definitely a hit.

"Shell"- 29 years old. Mother of one. Likes indie/emo rock and The Fresh Prince.
Currently Playing: Brain Age, 'New' Mario Bros DS.
Quotable Quote: "I hate using brakes"
Impressions:
"Wow friend, this is something else..."
"This seems preeetty easy."
"I would play this again.. how much is it?"
"Do they have this for Nintendo?"
Overall fun for her, but she would really love this in a portable format.

If you have girls on your list, you may want to consider this game. The game is mostly pretty easy and appears to have a ton of levels (good value). The art is very cutsey and is sure to appeal to anyone who adores pink and/or animals. Probably the most enjoyable twist on arkanoid that I have seen in a long time. Congrats to the makers, they have a hit on their hands!

Fizzball is a cool game. My 7 year old loves playing it & I have completed it myself. Grubby Games are the guys that made it. It's for Linux, Mac & Windows.

This is a pretty neat game. It's essentially katamari Damacy meets Archanoid in a barnyard. Something pretty satisfying about smashing up a farm with a giant, unstoppable bubble.
