Beta 3 update on Friday

by John Quigley · in Torque X 3D · 11/27/2006 (10:12 am) · 14 replies

On Friday evening we will post a Beta 3 update.

We will be feature frozen at this point so it will be a great time to pound on the engine and report bugs.

If all goes well with development this week, we will include the TGBX editor in this update. We'll be especially interested in bug reports and feedback on the editor.

I will post here when the beta update is ready to be downloaded.

Will there be any 3D examples with this tutorial?
Or could we get a simple "This is how you load a .dts" tutorial.

Fantastic!

I have been itching to see the editor fall in place.

@Paul - They aren't doing anything with 3D before it's released, including tutorials.

No 3D in this beta update. As Jon notes, 3D will be highly experimental/not really documented in the launch product.

Just curious, will the TGBX editor be able to import standard TGB scenes?

What do you mean by 'import' them? TGBX is just an add-on for TGB that allows you to export from standard TBG scenes to TXE scenes.

@John & Jon
ah ok. I just spent a bit of time fighting with anything 3d trying to blindly get it working and got no where (it was also like 3 am so it could have been user error), and while i don't want anyone to waste there time on 3d; if its a limited number of lines of code to setup a static 3d "scene" (completely empty) and place a single .dts object in it that would be a great point off of which i could build, and i would appreciate the example if it could be written in 10 minutes or so. If it would take longer then please don't waste your time on my account.

Can we get a changelog or something so we know what to expect in the release today?
