Weird.. CD won't work?

Well, I just finished the first chapter, and at the end it told me to put in the CD, and follow the on-screen instructions to install Torque 1.4. The problem is, that when I enter the disk, it comes up with a bunch of things, such as Play Media Files with Media Player, Browse the Files, etc. I clicked Browse Files, being the most logicial, and I clicked on tge.exe. Another problem that came up is that I clicked the tge.exe, and all that comes is a DOS window, but then it closes immediatly, leaving me no chance to even read it. Can anyone tell me how to get this TGE.exe up? I don't want to download the new version, because it bothers me to have to go to one place, then another over and over again. Thanks.
P.S: The part where they explained the engine, and how it works was very confusing for me, so I skipped it. Is it essential to read it? Thanks.

Also, look in the console.log file that is created in the directory and see if there are any errors (like cannot find device or something).

Strange. Right-click the folder and make sure that the file attributes are not read-only after copying it to the hard drive. That can be a problem sometimes. Also, look in the console.log file that is created in the directory and see if there are any errors (like cannot find device or something).
