TGE support sprites for the players and models or only 3d?

Hi,
I want to make a space game with isometric projection mainly (camera) but:

1. I want the level or map with many cool 3D buldings, objects etc... and the liberty of move the camera like the 3d worlds.

2. For the models of the players and NPC I have high definition polys... i think that i can make sprites for them...

My problem is:

The TGB has the aventure kit.
The TGE has the RTS starter kit.

I only have money for one of them, and i want to make the best choice... In the future i will want make some 3D FPS game...

Wath is the best option TGE or TGB?, i like TGE but, i will can use sprites for my models?...
