Is that large mothership sprite rendered from a 3D model, or hand-painted? I ask because there's some nice shading in there...

Looks great! If the gameplay is as good as the artwork this is a winner! Is that large mothership sprite rendered from a 3D model, or hand-painted? I ask because there's some nice shading in there...

Everything was hand painted with photoshop. I use to have some 3d objects in there (3d planets and asteroids) but later decided that we had much better control if it was just 2d.

Steve, your game makes me jealous. Now I have to go and push myself harder to produce something comparable... :D

I think the quality of the particle effects and the consistent visual style really contribute to making this a looker. :)Steve, your game makes me jealous. Now I have to go and push myself harder to produce something comparable... :D

It's really a very simple concept.
Each level is a series of mission objectives (game flow never stops though)
Complete each objective to continue to the next. Fight, collect asteroid particles for shield recharge, pickup powerup capsules to increase the firepower for your current weapon. Fight the end boss for each stage and get a completion ranking. That's the nutshell version of the game :)
The game has a very console feel to it. Besides launching the exe, everything is controlled from the gamepad, including all menus.
I do have to say, when using TGB correctly...you can pull off some crazy cool stuff.

I completely agree that GG has a great enabler with TGB. I'm still new to the product, but already it amazes me how productive the tool has been making me. Now if only it could make my programmer art look like your art :-)

That's some amazing art, and from the video the game play looks like it might be coming along very nicely. Great work!I completely agree that GG has a great enabler with TGB. From its look, bad people would say this would make a good TGBX game as it looks like many other XBox Arcade eye candy causual blasters :)Definitely looks interesting.
