Environment maps

Hello people,
I can't seem to get the environment mapping on my car done in blender. I am aware of the TDN resource ( tdn.garagegames.com/wiki/DTS/OldDoc/Introduction#Environment_Mapping: ), but that one only shows how to do this in 3DS Max.
I've tried setting the raytracing reflection in Blender, and adding an environment map to the model, but both seem to go without an effect.
The $pref::environmentMaps setting is 1 in both common/client/prefs.cs and mygame/client/prefs.cs and the emap variable in the datablock is true.
Kind regards,
Noe
PS: is there a way to search in a specific forum, instead of just all the forums?

I totally forgot about the readme file.
So it's the ref button I forgot, it instantly turns the object into chrome.
You can control the amount of reflection with the ref slider on the shaders tab of the material buttons.
Here's an image of the reflection I made.
