Who is and isn't having the 'framerate' issue?

The more I investigate the problem with slow framerates that many - but not ALL - of us seem to be having, the more I'm thinking that it's not a problem in TGB itself, but rather an issue in some video drivers that TGB is triggering. My preliminary work with both the gprof and oprofile profilers seem to bear this out - from what I can tell, the slowdown isn't happening in the TGB code itself. (Admittedly, I'm using both of these profilers for the first time here, so I could very easily be screwing up the results somehow...)
For everyone reading this - could you please make a quick post with your video card and driver info, and if you seem to be suffering from the slow-framerate problem or not? Perhaps we can find some kind of correlation and track down the issue a bit more specifically.

What is "the slow framerate problem" you are talking about?

Several other people in that thread noted that they had a similar issue, but there also was one person who specifically stated that they did NOT. There were also a couple other comments made that seemed to indicate the presence or lack of the problem without stating it outright.
I started this thread in hopes of collecting enough data that we might be able to discover something in common with those with the problem, which was also lacking in those who don't have the issue.

From my original post on the General Discussion forum:Quote:The framerate of both the TGB interface as well as any games running under it is abysmal - three-to-five frames a second at the most. Note that this is NOT due to lack of properly set up video drivers - I have no problems at all with any other hardware-accelerated programs, including TGE. I've also confirmed that TGB -is- reporting to the console that it's using the accelerated nvidia drivers, rather than accidently using mesa or some other software-based openGL layer.

I've also been told that this issue affects similiar hardware, run from a locally run instance of Gentoo from a friend of mine who demo'd a prototype I was working on.

I seem to be affected by the slow framerates, but am admittedly testing my TGB linux build in a VMware system, using Ubuntu. My system specs are an AMD64 3500+, 1gb DDR2, SATA 10k drive, with an NVIDIA 6800 256mbI've also been told that this issue affects similiar hardware, run from a locally run instance of Gentoo from a friend of mine who demo'd a prototype I was working on.

Ended up just making a small Windows partition for it. Now it works perfectly. :)

I had slow framerate when running from VMware, but once I installed locally, it ran fine (although it had some issues).Ended up just making a small Windows partition for it. Now it works perfectly. :)
