3DMax8 Animation

Had a chance to play around with 3D Studio Max 8 this weekend. I was very successful at creating static items and placing them in TGE, the max exporter plus is great. However I was unable to create the most basic of animations, I tried every animation tutorial I could find. I cretaed a basic "charector" put in some bones, linked said bones to the mesh. rotated the bones and the mess didn't move. I have used Milkshape and was able to do a complete model animated exported and all. The power of 3D Max makes me want to us it but I sure could use some help with animation. Thanks

You need to include a sequence helper into the scene for the exporter to find and know to export animation data for your mesh. All of this is covered in the DTS exporter docs that are linked in the artists section of the site.

I guess I posted this in the wrong forum but I was looking for people that use Max. I don't have a problem exporting from Max I am having a problem animating IN Max.

You have to use the SKIN modifier for deforming mesh animation, just linking vertices to a bone doesnt do much.
Also, you have to link the mesh to the bones, not the other way around.

That sounds like it is what I'm doing wrong. I was linking bone to mesh because it seem easier. I'll try it tonight. Thanks
