I know some of you are probaly saying wtf, but seing that Chrome Spec Force was programmed in java I figured its possible for anyone. The only problem is I am far from being a programmer one thing i ran into with torque, so im looking for some java programmers that can make 3d java games. I am looking to make an mmo shooter kinda like Star wars galaxies except less lame and less buggy lol. I am working on the design document which i will be working on over the weekend and week. I want players to beable to fight on ground in air and in space, however i would like the transition between planet to space to be seemless maybe some atomsphere effects when u start heading through the atmosphere of a planet. I can handel modeling sound is somewhat of an iffy since i haveent tried it yet. I am also trying to get a website up but I need to work on my web development skills lol. I have one person so far willing to do some coding if not to big. I was helping him with 3d models. If yall think torque will be able to handel this then we can use toque but i want it to be an os independint game no more only for windows bs "i am a windows hater lol, but its the only thing i can play games on". Now for the bad part i am broke and unable to pay anyone for their work and wont beable to until the game is launched. when i get done with the overview i will give more details on the actual game but so far thats the skeleton. so please if you are willing to help reply.

Try the Java Games Forum at http://192.18.37.44/forums/index.php . Garagegames isn't java-oriented.

If you do want to write games in Java, you may also want to check out http://jMonkeyEngine.com. It's got nice features, an active set of user forums, and decent documentation.

Ive decided to go with the mmo kit from mydreamrpg.com
Torque Owner Edward Smith

xith.org/
Xith3D is just like Java3D in its structure except its designed for games in mind, also using JOGL.
Though it may not be as portable as Java3D - which would still be a bit of a pain.
I worked with Xith3D for my main project.
"I know some of you are probaly saying wtf, but seing that Chrome Spec Force was programmed in java I figured its possible for anyone." I wouldn't go so far to say anyone! I'm sure there was a hell of a lot of work in to it.
If you want to see a Java game you may want to check out Tribal Trouble on this site:
