Max2dts reating extra elements

Hi all,
I'm trying the new max2dts exporter and I cannot export at all. First it said I have 2 nodes w/ the same name; indeed I had, so I rename one of them and try again. Again, it said I have 2 nodes w/ the same name, this time a different node. I decided to take a carefull look and....my model had 1 duplicate for each node in my model. That means the exporter is creating these nodes? I guess yes....
Anyway, is there a nice, noob manual for this exporter? Or maybe a link to the old exporter?
