Torque noobie please help

Hi everyone, im having trouble with the tranparency with torque im using 3ds max 8 and checking the supplied tutorial which is the Simpleshape4. open up the file included in the toque pack and followed the instructions. but the transparency does not show....... what can i do?

The Torque out the box does not support transparency. You have to patch the engine.

Uh
I'd want to say he's talking about a DTS shape. not an interior. Since.... Max would probably be being used to create DTS. But i'm not certain what this simpleshape4 is.

Yes its only a DTS shape. Simpleshape4 is just a box with a diffuse map (.png) that contains an alpha channel. in the manual it is stated that i put the map at the diffuse slot. then check the opacity check box in the material editor only. (that the opacity map will get the alpha of the diffuse map even if the opacity map slot doesn't have a texture in it). using this technique in 3ds max works for older versions but not at 3ds max 8. i tried creating a clean file (simple box with a different texture for diffuse slot also containing alpha) but no transparency. exported well on DTS but when viewed on -show no transparency at all plain black on alpha areas (same in 3ds max). but when i instanced the diffuse map to opacity map it worked in max but not on DTS (same output on -show). i don't know if its an issue with 3ds max. or maybe there's a new way in DTS to export tranparent objects that is not included on the manual (i think its old latest version of max i've read is 5) thanks for the help...
