3Dmax character problem

Hello

I have tried it a dozen time and did many tutorials but none of them seem to explain how to handle my problem

Torque crashes when using my model as a player (thus animated) , it works fine as static shape .

Does anyone has a 3Dmax file of a Biped player model that is ready for export with no error .
I want to look how it is done , how you linked the bones what config file did u use etc...

Did you run unmess.exe?

If you want a3dsmax player search for the Green Guy and you will get a player that exports perfectly.
This comes in the demo if you search chapter 8.0

Check to ensure that you have an "eye" node in your player DTS file. This node is required for any DTS that you try to load as a Player.

Hello again ,

I did use Unmess.exe and I have an eyenode and propbly all the rest

Im had a hard time exporting this model and it still doesnt work I changed the schematic links a dozen times and added and removed diffrent cfg settings still no luck , exports smooth -> crahses torque (TSE)

I have uploaded the model for any of u that uses 3Dmax 8 and is willing to help.

Robin I will take a look and get back to you asap. I have had a lot of success with Torque and Tribes back in the day.

Just opened it up and the nodes are in the wrong place and there is no model exporting going on. It should take a few to get an export on characters no matter how many polies. However if it goes in like 2 seconds then its a good sign something went wrong.
Check your dump file it will reveal a lot to you. The nodes you have are strange as if your using the same naming convetion as Tribes 2 did. (the names have numbers after them) I have example models if you want I can email you working max files you can look at.

Going to look more later.

It will be very helpfull if you can send me a few example models .

What do you mean by the nodes are in the wrong place ? guess i find out when i compare it with your models. (Can you please include the .cfg files)
