Character creation

I may be blind, but I have been looking every where for a good character creation walkthrough and cant find one.
I only see the one that allows you to crate that sphere like character. I made a base character my self, trying to copy the player that comes with starter.fps, yet it does not work
Any help would be great
p.s. Iwhen I do export my model, it just appears as a blank model, nothing working.
Also I am semi new to the engine, I bought it a while ago, but just recently had a reason to work with it
Thank you for any help

I just went to the TDN front page, and typed in "character export" and it came up as one of the links.

For 3dsmax, there's a pretty good tutorial (there's even some video tutorials on a contributed site). They go through how you need to create Sequence objects, set keyframes to decide how long they are in the animation, etc.
