Free wolf to a good home

by Drew Vaughan · in Game Design and Creative Issues · 09/05/2006 (5:38 am) · 10 replies

Hey all:

Here is a free modeled wolf, approx 2900 triangles, in .obj format, UV mapped (but not yet textured), free to a good home. I'm new here, and I'm always making more, so it's good to meet all of you, and I hope you enjoy these models as I make them.

The wolf was modeled off of a real wolf down at a local animal sanctuary, as well as online references.

It can be downloaded at:

http://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/Index.cfm/ID/318361 (it's a free download here)

-or-

Enjoy the download, and I look forward to working with you all!

Hey, thanks man! I put your wallpaper up on my PSP btw.

I'm still new here, but I'd like to start making some more assets people could use. Is there a way to take requests and help out? It looks like a solid way to buff my portfolio and help the indie community out at the same time.

Thanks!

@Drew,

Took a look at your site and work, very nice. If you are in the mood to get involved and help out, I could use some help with some creature models. I can't model worth...well, I just can't model. I could probably learn like I have with everything else, but I've got a lot on my plate right now. I can rig and animate though. If your interested I could supply some production/prototype drawings to work from. Here's a link to my website:

and here's my lastest .plan:

I've been working nearly alone (with the exception of code from a few very bright members of the community, and a some music by a great guy Ajari Wilson) and my son, and I'm starting to get burnt out. Just thought I'd run it past you. You can email me: alanjames at charter.net

This is nice...my game does need an animated wolf, so this should come in handy as a great starting point.

I also could use some other animals as well...a cat in particular. If you're interested, please email me (address in my profile).

Thanks!

I don't know if you're aware of this but a wolf based game - Okami - is getting _great_ reviews and just shipped in this country AFAIK.

Just thought you would like to know...

Yep! I got it. It's funky how this email is working.

@Rubes: I can model a cat no problem - also, I'm in the process of texturing that wolf model. I'll try emailing you (I use a gmail account - I'm not sure if that's seen as spam or not, though - so if you don't get it, reply to me through here)

Drew,
Nice work!
Hey, is that alligator/dinosaur feeling the urge of nature?

Your wolf just makes me want to see a human morphed into a wolf/human ie werewolf. Even though it is not textured it looks alive.
