Generating a mini-map of terrain?!?

Hi all,
Just wondering - apart from purchasing the RTS pack, is there a gui out there to draw a terrain (kinda similar to the orig civ - many moons ago :)
Bit of a newbie im afraid, but very (very) impressed with Torque.

There's a commander map resource that displays a dynamic view of everything.
