Using hammer for maps problem (is this right section >_)

Ok, i have set up my hammer for torque. But when i compile "MAP2DI~1.EXE" crashes! I don't know whats going on :(. Sorry, I'm sort of new to Torque, but i have been using hammer for HL2 maps for almost a year now :S.

Have you try map2dif_plus to see if it does the same thing. It would be hard to tell you what you doing wrong from your brief statement. Do you have simple map you can email me. I can load and see what going on.

Yeah, I use map2dif_plus as my CGS executable. This is my Torque, thing that you put in the command box after "run" or F9.-v -h -o C:\Torque\SDK\example\wolf.fps\data\interiors -t C:\Torque\SDK\example\wolf.fps\data\interiors\textures $path$file.$ext
The map is nothing. Just a box.
Is my map2dif_plus broken?

I dont think CGS executable is causing your crash, I just did one with fake CGS and it convert find. What about your textures, power of 2 (256 X 128, 256 x 256) jpg or png. You will need wad for Hammer. Some esle you can look at using is DeleD http://www.delgine.com/index.php. i am using the free version. You dont need wad file with this one.

Something else that I've seen... if you have a lot of small multi-faced brushes (in my case, pipes), these need to be set to detail brushes, or it may crash.

Are u good at mapping for HL2 ?
