The mini platform tutorial....

Anyone who knows the answer to my question...please be generous enough to write back.

well my problem is simple....in this tutorial "http://tdn.garagegames.com/wiki/TGB/MiniPlatformerTutorial"....it teaches how to make an unbelevibly basic platform game. so anyway i get to a point in the lesson and they have somthing that i "might not have" or "dont know how to do".....

"Building a level
Now we will build a simple tileLayer for our level. Drag and drop the newLayer.lyr object from the Tile Maps rollout and onto our scene. (Figure 3.1) Once you've placed it on the scene we'll have to customize it a little to make it work with the rest of our art."

here are two images if you dont know what this is on about

http://tdn.garagegames.com/wiki/images/a/a2/3-1_tileMaps.png
http://tdn.garagegames.com/wiki/Image:3-5_resize.png

now i dont know if im suppose to create this thing or that this is something in a later version of tgb...but all i know is that im using TGB version 1.0.0 on a mac.....

anyone??????????????????????? please

Ryan,

A) that resource is for licensed users only -- ask in the private forums
B) Mac's TGB hasn't been upgraded to 1.1.0 so you'll have to either
1) Logically figure out how to convert the new tile editor to the old or
2) wait till a newer mac version is available that's compatible with that tutorial

If you go in and edit your forum subscriptions (where you view all available forums), you should be able to find it near the bottom, right below the public forums. Regardless, here is your link.

@Mark, the private forums are also only available to licensed users -- if you've not yet obtained a license, you'll have to wait until you do.

If you've licensed, Clint's directions should do the trick.
