Where is there a good tutorial on how to take a animated character with bones from 3dsmax to Torque. Need to know how to export it correctly from max using the new released torque exporter or the old one. Been search all around but can not find a tutorial that will explain how to set it up clearly so you can export your animations to Torque. This has become very confusing.

Ok good that helps me understand how this animation is working but now weres a tutorial with bones the tutorial for the complex character does not show up. Is there a bone animation tutorial somewhere now? or is the bones set up the same way as the simple character?

I'm using the skin modifier but it says it cannot be link the modifier i applied to my arm error on export says skin modifier must be unlinked. So it wont export

Basically; DON'T link your actual meshes to anything.

Ok last thing I fixed the link error but now i have "assertion failed on the skined object" when i export what does that error mean? What could be causing it?

Is your mesh an editable poly? The exporter only works properly with editable mesh. Either convert it, or do what I do; Add a "Mesh select" modifier just before the skin modifier in the stack.

Get no details to export now fixed the assertion failed. Do you have a sample of a bone setup for export I could look at?

But you know what you are doing so could you just please help me out here I would love it alot if you would just help me out please. Those tutorials are not working to good there not complete and kind of are scattered and dosent tell you how to put it all together.

Well, make sure your mesh(es) have a number at the end of the name and make sure you have a dummy called detailX (where X is the same number).

Its still not working I need someone to please write a small tutorial with just two bones to walk me though it on how to set them up for export please I begging someone please help me out.

Yes we did the other guy that was trying to get it to work finally got it to work but havent seen him today for him to tell me what he did, but once he shows me I will post it here for everyone.
