Installing TGB

by Kayl · in Torque Game Engine · 08/17/2006 (3:16 pm) · 2 replies

Hello.
I wanted to test Torque Game Builder then I downloaded GetTorqueGameBuilder_Demo.exe from the website. I launched the executable and the installation was carried out until the end. while wanting to launch Game Builder I realized that there was no shortcut to GameBuilder in the start menu (I found only the shortcut Folder "Torque Game Builder").
I looked in the installation folder (by default) but I find only uninstall.exe (and nothing else)
could you help me.
Thank you.

The demo installer is just a stub that downloads the files and installs them with uninstall.exe. If you don't "check for an updated version of the software" during installation then it doesn't have anything to install. (Quite why this is optional I have no idea.)

The installer was also broken behind proxies as it took the proxy information you enter when checking for updates, checked for updates, and then ignored the proxy information when trying to download files. I don't know if this has been fixed yet, but you can get around it by just downloading the file in the update list manually in a browser and running that.
