Quick dim question about TGB vs TGE

First, I have an indie license for TGE and TLK, which I'm using to make a farily lengthy exploration game..
BUT (you knew there was a BUT, right?) I'd llike to find a way to get a couple of casual games out while I work on my larger-scope project..
I'm assuming that buying TGB would let me crank out a nice, simple 2D game a bit faster than trying to wrangle 2D type stuff into my TGE/TLK...
Any comments, experiences, and/or flames?
btw, just kidding about the flames... :-|

If it turns out to be too much fun I might move to a pro license, right now I don't want to hack the engine, I want to script up fun games and crank out weird artwork for same!!
Where to start, where to start...
