Tried , tried again , failed... dts export problems

Hello there
Can you help me ? i hope so
I want to make a player model in 3d max 8 and have the following problems
(i can make a shape in 3dmax8 and export it perfectly)
when exporting the blue guy : it shows up in tgeShow and is animated but cant load the animation files ? ingame it crashes when hitting the ground (playing animation) and is not animated at all
green alien guy from tutorial : invisible without unMess.exe , low poly with .
do u use unMess.exe ???
selfmade guy : what do i need for a model is there a perfect tutorial.
help!

"Unmess dts" is not needed under max8. At least I never used it. use cfg files so that all nodes are properly exported that you need, otherwise if an animation looks for a node not present in the dts you get errors...Well apart from that, take your time to look at these tut's very good basics:

Try running your unmess.exe if that doesnt work post back.

Wow, I always use UNMESS.exe 100% of the time. MY exports seem to always work.Try running your unmess.exe if that doesnt work post back.

I used unMess.exe
I should try out what Michael said , tomorrow ill test it .

ill take a second look , i had seen them before when i was not busy modeling.

Open your 3dmax8\plugin folder.
Remove(delete) the older plugins.(there messing everything up.) close max.
Now ... uninstall the new exporter.
reboot. Now your clean.
Reinstall the new exporter.
Export again.
I had alot of simple problems when I installed the new exporter. I think it uses some functions from the older exporter unless you uninstall it. After this, everything seems to be fine.
Please include your max files for some one to take a look at..... that is, if this don't work. ;)

Robin: Being it only the Blueguy and the Green guy, You should have added the max files your useing to be checked by others. I dought the problem is the max files, but more the exporter. Open your 3dmax8\plugin folder.
