You can get the source code for the all the exporters and write one.

Hehe I love the posts that say. "Just write your own exporter" or "You can do anything with Torque all you have to do is write your own code." This be the ARTISTS forum. Dont the super geeks that can look at the matrix and actually see what is going on know that artists are code inept?

John - I take great exception to what you just said. I am coder, artist (2d & 3d) and musician. Not all artists are code inept. I am a good enough coder to write export tools for my favorite design packages. Now, 3D Canvas isn't one of them, unfortunately for Jermaine, but there you have it.

@Jermaine
Pick up Milkshape 3D(really easy built-in .dts exporting for only $25) or Blender(free, but kinda difficult to use the .dts export plug-in IMO) and use them to export as .dts.

@John
I find it just as irritating to have people come and expect others to make an exporter with no knowledge of what such an undertaking actually means. It is like walking into an art studio with a complex character and 500 complex animations with exacting facial expressions and saying "I need this tomorrow...btw, you have to learn strange app x that you've never used and I need it last tuesday. I'll see you in my office tomorrow."

That's not the track of this topic (which was a simple question about whether one was available and not "make one for me"). But I often see that topic come up and the flippant responses are often because of the flippant request.

But I also find it extremely degrading to call artists code inept. Especially if they deal with scripting advanced caustics or replicators. Learning the script languages or the math tools in their art tools is EXTREMELY beneficial. In fact, it can make you a very beneficial member of the art team, especially if you are working on a small team which deals with video production.

You could look at Blender and GameSpace as well (though there haven't been any significant updates to GS for a while though TrueSpace has had a version increase).

Blender is hard as hell, and truespace is like $399

Gamespace is cheaper and it has puppeeter. What I like about gamespace I can do pretty much everything in it. Map making to be convert to dif, standard dts and the player dts. Once you learn how use it, it is very easy. If you dont have alot money then go with milkshape or Blender. Blender look hard but you do some tutorials out there you will soon find out that it only look hard.

Well, you could (alternatively) hook up with a programmer who needs an artist and can write an exporter for your game.
