What is the maximum size terrain can TSE make?

Hi there ive purchased the TGE couple of weeks ago but as i was trolling through the forums i realized that tge cant make one large map and many speak of paging terrain. Before i get into coding id like to know the size of the maps TSE allows me to make. I found some people posting how they have maps about 500km by 500km. How large of a map can a make and how long will it take for the player to run through it?

Thanks

If I remember correctly, TSE allows maps larger than the size of the known universe... if you have enough disk space to store the data.

Search through Ben Garney's blog. He gave the largest theoretical size of terrain - and it was far bigger than the universe. You'd probably need a very large disk set to store it though ;).

I believe the possibilities are endless. It's more the program. Terragen can export 4097x4097 at the most.

But you can then, of course, load in as many terrain blocks as you wish. I'm currently using 4 terrain blocks, each 1km square. I have plans of using as many as 40-50 blocks in a single mission, and everything I see indicates I could use infinite blocks (if I felt like processing that many).

Isn't space infinite? isn't there always more? isn't there always less?

owwwwww...

now my head hurts...

wow, if you lived forever, you would still never get to see everything. sheesh. what a rip off.
