Im working on the character creation part of my game, already have the player models and such. For some reason im completely lost in this part of my game creation, I really dont have to much of an idea where to start after making and linking the visual gui part of this, i need to be able to have the player pick their race, then look (what their char looks like,be able to pick a body type and then head), then class, but i have no clue on where to go with this at all. If there's any tutorials please refer me to them, ive searched the GG forums and didnt really see anything too in depth about this. If anyone wants to help and be a little more detailed, then please, feel free. ^^

I think you'll want to start by looking up GuiPlayerView. There's also a GuiObjectView. I don't believe there's any tutorials, but feature-wise, people have modified these controls here and there.

Actually, Dreamer has posted some pretty good tutorials that included a section on character creation in the resources.

True. But I didn't want to state the obvious. ;) If you're doing anything remotely like an RPG, check out Dreamer's resources on this site and also on his website www.mydreamrpg.com.

Edit: Less obtuse.

No, I mean Dreamer has some good resources available right here on the GG website, and one of his tutorials is specifically character generation.

What we use these days in the MMO KIT is a version of guiObjectView (or maybe its guiModelView) which has also been altered by a visiting genius to support node (mesh) hiding, to do different heads, hairs, eyes, body parts, etc. Everything did grow out of Dreamer's tutorials though, which are a good start for just toggling the main model around.
