Bet everone looks at this post atleast once.

So my question to GG or probably Ben,... and I believe Brian is the other person i see usually answer my post at one time or another ....so what is Atlas not the terrain itself I like what youv done and I see where you going(sort of)..but what of an Interface GUI,.. I see the Import one, well crafted by one of the developers that is a member of this site...But are you guy going to make one so that we can say add the textures and opacity maps in a GUI system...will there be a preview of the terrain it self in a little window?

Sorry probably more than one question in that mess...

and sorry to the person that doesnt like my spelling mistakes;*)

Robert: I'm not sure having a preview is any use, by the time you've loaded it for a preview, you might as well have loaded it from the game.

There are other ways of generating a preview that will work just as well.

I am sure there are plans afoot for a whole toolset based around atlas2, including gui's and editing tools and the whole nine yards. But its not an overnight development by a long shot.

Thats not really what I meant i guess and maybe my expeince is based on olded tech ans perhapes why you folk are moving this route..i used to use 3dgamestudio..I know Its backwards compared to the Amighty Torque;*) but in that engine I was able to take a single BMP hightmap load it into the model editor and edit it like any other model...so I guess what I really want to know..(and Ive heard rumor)are we going to be adding plugins for 3dsMAX(or MS3d,Blender...ect) so we can output .ATLAS files?

Thank you for being patient with my questions..I know they seen useless to answer at this time where you are still developing it but if you not going this way I will have to hire addition help and do it my selp...I will of coarse donate the tools when im done to the community: )>

I don't know about .atlas exporters for 3dsMAX or anything but I know there will be a Terrain Editor for Atlas terrains just like there was for the old TER files in Torque Game Engine. I imagine it will still be initially created by imported a map like it is now (with maybe a random generation tool) but once you get it in game you will be able to load up the editor (F11) and alter the Terrain as you see fit.

Someone from GG correct me if I'm wrong.

Thank you ..guess I was just trying to nail down somthing to look forward to....So a WYSIWYG like the legacy editor...hmmm..is this similar to the prosess that gave birth to the Legacy Terrain system?

Robert: well, the problem is that atlas terrain is so big that it cant fit in memory all at once. That adds to the complexity of the task. Lets just say you *will* have something to look forward to. We just dont know when :)
