FYI: Game Engine Anatomy 101

I am posting this mainly for others out there who are, like myself, just getting into game development for the very first time, and are finding themselves identifying daily with good old Shultz when it comes to which way is up in a game engine. =-)
There is a terrific series of articles on www.extremetech.com that explain what goes on inside a game engine, and why/how modern engines do things the way they do. It is going to be an eleven part series, and only three have been published so far, but it has really cleared things up for me and allowed me to start going through the TGE source code without feeling totally lost and disoriented.
Anyway here is a link to the article as it is so far.
BTW: A TGE walk-through document (or series of articles in the newsletter perhaps) describing how TGE approaches/implements these parts of a game engine would be insanely great! =-)
