There are plenty of open source 3d engines out there. I suggest using one of those.

I'm sorry you got ripped off. It sucks, I know, but GG isn't going to just give you a license because you paid some pirate in Hungary. You could however download the demo to play with for now. The demo allows you to edit scripts, terrain, etc. You can't edit source code with it or commercially distribute what you make.

Then, you will need an actual license for some things. I'm not sure about the scripting tutorials on TDN, but I think you will need a license.
1. $firstPerson = false;
2. Crosshair information on TDN
3. Basic AI tutorial on TDN
4. This requires a bit more digging. There are a couple of character selection resources out there, though most if not all require engine changes. I think that you could do it in TS, but I've never thought about trying.
5. Yes. You will need to look at the HUD information and variables.

Contact the business section of GarageGames with information on the boxed copy. Then, you will need an actual license for some things. I'm not sure about the scripting tutorials on TDN, but I think you will need a license.

And it is a pirate version as there is no official boxed version of the engine. Creating a box and selling software as official can be a big business. Unfortunately, you got caught on the short end of the stick.

No can do. They are for licensees for a reason. And it is a pirate version as there is no official boxed version of the engine. Creating a box and selling software as official can be a big business. Unfortunately, you got caught on the short end of the stick.

This would be like buying a fake Rolex and then expecting the Rolex company to repair it for the rest of your life.

The thing is, Vlado... you cannot expect the legitimate producers of the product to offer you support because you were taken in. It sucks that you were taken in, but you were. This would be like buying a fake Rolex and then expecting the Rolex company to repair it for the rest of your life.

I can understand you being unhappy because you have been duped, but you should also understand why we cannot under our licensing agreement and affiliation with GarageGames as licensees post information, source code, or otherwise restricted information to someone who is not a licensee. It really bites that you were duped by someone who preyed upon you with an illegitimate product. But I can't help you with that. I can feel bad. I can be pissed that there's someone out there selling boxed copies of TGE to people who will think it is the real thing. But in the end it is not the real thing and there is nothing I can do about it.

So you bought a product from a non reputable seller, at more a more expensive price, and are suprised when you find out that it is a pirated copy? I'm sorry, I don't feel bad for you at all. You should have never even thought about buying it in the first place.

You just had to know that it was pirated. Moreover, you said that you bought it for $120, whereas it is only $100 on the Garage Games site since it looks like you would qualify for an idie license.

Is Garage Games making money from you buying a pirated copy of Torque? No. Is it fair if they give you all the source code and documentation on a product they made yet you didn't buy legally from them? No. I'd suggest not posting on these community forums anymore until you actually pay for a legit copy of Torque. No one's going to help you and with good reason if you don't pay for a product you enquire about.
This can be solved in 3 easy steps:
Step1. Request to remove the thread
Step2. Create a new account
Step3. Buy a legal copy of Torque

Its your own fault and no one else has to pay for your mistakes but you.
No one will help you, unless you buy the product again, legally from GG.
