How to change to 3rd person view and question about walking....

**BEFORE YOU REPLAY ME CHECK ALSO MY OTHER POSTS IN THIS PAGE BECAUSE THERES SEVERAL MISSUNDERSTANDIGS!!!**

Hello... this is my second post here....
at the last time that i've asked for help here, everybody thought that im using a piracy version and start to attack me...

now i'm saying that i'm using the demo, version 1.4..

and dont tell me that u cant modify the source code because i've applied the air control and the double jumping resources.....

so... here are my questions...
1. how can i make the 3rd person view (when tab is hitted in the examples, it changes the view from first person to thired person) as the default instead the first person view.??

2. i've added the air control resource for walking on water.
when im playing with the water/character's density, i can see that the player is floating over the water and it looks like he is stands on them....
when im starting to walk on them, it just move and dont shows the walking animation...
how can i make it show the animation?

tnx
MiNiZeRo

p.s.
----
dont start again with the arguing about my license please.... i can proove that i have a legal version of tge..
because its the demo....

in order to modify the source code, u need to download a small patch (to visual studio net 2005) and install it... (the patch dont make it to an ilegal version because its stored on garagegames server...)

and sorry about my language...

You couldn't have applied those resources without the ability to modify the source code.

This sounds to me like you're admiting to hacking the demo, and possibly more.

Even though you don't want this to turn into a "piracy topic", how exactly did you apply the double/air jump resource, which requires changes to the C++ source code:

Quote:Here I am very happy to post my first resource which is a modification to the C++ core of the Torque ;)

To begin open the player.h file of the Torque SDK.

That is from the author of the resource. player.h is not included anywhere in the Demo version.

I like helping people. I really do. But you don't seem to understand that I, and others here, want to help legal licensees of the source code or people who are legally evaluating Torque. Neither of which seems to apply to you, sadly.

Arghh.. im tired of this.. why can't u just believe me..?!

download the demo and see for yourselves... and here is the patch:
http://tdn.garagegames.com/wiki/images/e/e8/TGE_VS2005.zip
do you see?!?! its from garagegames server!!!
its not a patch to make it full... it just to make the solutions compatible for visual studio net 2005......

And the player.h is included... and also player.cc!!

its no piracy.. i dont know how ill proove it to you...

tisten... just install the demo.. and see for yourselves.... plz....

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

now i want to tell you something.....
honestly, i really tried to find the piracy version of TGE... i've only found the v12 engine which seems to be the hacked version of the TGE with the full source code... but i could'nt build it....
there was a lot of errors......
so i've decided to let off the TGE and i've tried renderware and blitz and all kind of engine... but theres nothing to compare....... TGE beats them all.!

today.. someone told me at the messenger how can i build the demo version .... it seems to be that the demo can be built... i dont know why but at my previous post, those who replied, convinced me that this is not possible.... iv'e downloaded the patch.. and its working!
so come on.... believe me!!

Ok, I just dowloaded that link you provided. That is not the demo. All that is in there are VS project files, the MS Platform Library, a few files from the lib folder, and a couple files from the tools folder specifically the max and milkshape exporters.

Player.h and Player.cc are not there.

That link is from TDN, which you don't have access to as you don't have a license. Obviously something has been uploaded onto it and has accidentally become public. Still, there's no engine source code in there which means you do in fact have a pirated copy of the code.

Um. The demo does NOT include player.h or player.cc. I know. I just downloaded it. That patch is for SDK owners to use VS2005 with the SDK. It includes the names of the files in the heirarchy but not the files or the ability to build them without having a copy of the SDK. Since you are not licensed, there is no legal way that you would have the SDK with the C++ source code on your system.

i didn't say that this is the demo!!!!!!!
i said that this is a patch for making the TGE compatible with VS2005!!!

ONE OF MY PROJECTS IN THE SOLUTION IS CALLED: "Torque Demo"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ARE YOU TELLIN' ME THAT THIS IS IS'NT THE DEMO?!?!

THE ONLY PIRACY VERSION OF TORQUE IS THE V12 RELEASE AND ITS NOT IT!!!!

SEE THE IMAGE THAT I'VE UPLOADED.....

It doesn't matter that it isn't the demo. You shouldn't have access to it, and you sure as hell cannot use that to compile without the source code. Which you obviously are using illegally.

Yes, that is not the demo. The SDK project files are called Torque Demo.

TDN might be wrong configured.
If one is not logged in, one can't reach the TDN docs. Maybe your direct link works, but I doubt you are allowed to download TDN files.

I think you and Bryce should get together. Sounds like you two would really hit it off.

Um...If you compile the source code and run it normally...it runs THE DEMO of TGE. They build the DEMO from the source and release it without the source code. The difference is that licensee's get the source code. Your assertion that the piracy version is stuck at v12 is wholly ignorant of the piracy community. Or, more likely, a smokescreen. I just modded a link on GameFAQs a week or so ago to an FTP server which included TSE/TGE/TLK/Half-Life 2/etc as well as Max, XSI, Lightwave, Photoshop, etc. It had a ton of things, but it had the version numbers and they were all up-to-date. GG, and the community, take piracy seriously because it is a serious problem. The site died shortly afterwards but will no doubt rise somewhere else as is the nature of such sites.

img529.imageshack.us/img529/8919/licenseeexample5kg.pngYou don't own a Torque License, therefor:
* You shouldn't have any access to the sourcecode.
* Any resources with sourcecode modifications are useless (including the Air Control one).
* The VS2005 project files from TDN are useless.
* Any sourcecode changes you "applied" would never have worked in the first place.

However, keep in mind, you can still apply resources to the Torque Demo that modify script, or any data files or images (such as terrain, textures, shapes, interiors, etc...).

Minizero, where did you get your pirated version? I want the source code to TGE but i can't afford to spend the $100...

@Sean: Are you really asking where to get a pirated version of TGE in the GarageGames forums? Dude you must be stupid. Enjoy your ban.

@ Xavier... hmmm i think you missunderstood :) I think sean was baiting him to tell use. And torque is actually not that hard to get pirated. I've seen it several places already.

THe torque "Demo" isn't some limited functionality, timed demo. it's the full version, it's just the fact it's a demonstration or example game. People seem quite confused about this. But yeah, even it that downloaded link came with player.cc and player.h... it's gotta have EVERY other file in the project to compile.

It sound like to me somebody have sold there TGE to MiNiZeRo which is illegal but probably did not tell him the whole true. if this case he should go back to them and get his money back and get a legal copy.

I'm happy that you solved it yourself because you are obviously not going to get help here. Not that you have the respect of anyone in the community anyway.

-- Severely edited the rest because I suddenly realized that I wasn't on the Ogrish or Stile forums and thought that piggy-butcher-syphilis references as a means of gamedev success were probably not the best course of action. --
