FN HERSTAL is pleased to announce that its SCAR prototype has been officially selected from a field of competitors through a full and open competition by the US Special Operations Command (US SOCOM) and has been awarded an IDIQ (indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity) contract that is funded for FY-2005.
The FN SCAR is a family of weapons that FN HERSTAL designed and built from the ground up to satisfy the severe USSOCOM requirements. It consists of different variants of rifles, all available in 5.56 (SCAR-Light) and 7.62 (SCAR-Heavy) calibres as well as a Grenade Launcher Module with Fire Control System
The SCAR was Operator specified, Operator tested and Operator chosen.

French friets originate indeed from Belgium and not from france. And belgium is NOT a french speaking country. The majority of Belgians speaks Dutch ...

Belgium is also know for beer, chocolate and diamonds.
