I just about Completely redo the texture. The hard to make detailed areas i either leave alone or refine, but they are okay.

But what i am wondering is if i can model a gun without permission of the company (Walther, FN, Kalashnikov, etc) and then pack it and sell it.

That is a matter of trademark, not copyright... a very different beast.

The short answer would be, no. Technically speaking, you can't even give 'em away. That said, it would depend on whether these companies felt the need to defend their trademarks (and they'd be fools not to, but they might make a compulsory "include this disclaimer" and call it good).

I'd say it is, unfortunately, another one of those cases where you're going to have to contact the companies themselves to see how they'd feel about it. A lot of companies are very generous as long as you won't impact them, and a lot of other ones are rotten bastards.

>Bryce is about 12 years old.

Age filter anyone? If someone doesn't read these forums on a regular basis, one would assume he's at least 18. Surge wasn't wrong with his comments, Bryce has no business selling anything. After doing the fake photoshop dev shots twice, I can't believe he still has posting rights. I can't believe his parents doesn't monitor his internet use.

Seriously Sean H, thats my point.
We all here are indies, and when packs are made and sold, they are supposed to be of a professional nature.
The point of buying a pack is to see and understand professional quality art. How all the elements from script to muzzle flash mount points ,etc all go together.

Sean, if you bought Bryces pack, you may not feel to happy about your purchase.
You may feel ripped off. Im trying to warn others who have very little money, that if you want to try something, try something for free first, learn all the in's and outs.

I do not see how my age has anything to do with Young Man Bryce trying to sell his pack. What Im saying now, may prevent him from many more moments of embarassment. Imagine him trying to figure out how to return an angry mobs money when the pack goes on sale.?

Keep up the great work Bryce.!

Works great. works just like a real gun!

if there's no ammo, the slide opens up. you get ammo, you can activate the slide catch and fire by pressing the mouse button. you run out of ammo, slide opens again. exactly the way i want. semi auto too, thank you tim heldna for helping me with that.

Quote:I use milkshape. It's hard to make weapons that look oh-so impressive and commercial game quality.

This guy used milkshape too. ;)

Hey surge, can you post a link to your game so I can test it?

Jesus Christ everyone, did we wake up and have Carnation instant Bitch for breakfast, everyone blasts Bryce for acting immaturely, well hes 12, and hes acting his age, the rest of you, well thats another story.

Yes he did some fakes in the past, which is not cool, but he needs guidance not to be some ritualistic sacrafice so that you can feel better about yourselves. You want him to be mature, your setting a lousy example.

It takes alot to get me mad but seeing this shit does it, this is a place to learn and grow. Where I live we take those like him who are willing to learn, and obviously trying to do everything they can (though be it alot in the wrong direction) to be accepted and feel like a part of this community, AND TRAIN THEM.

If you guys are so "Kick Ass" at what you do then teach him, dont shoot him down. If I saw any member of my team or employee where I work do what youre doing I dont care how good they are GONE, replaced the next day with someone who understands we need to secure the future of our industry.

I would like also to point out that I dont recall seeing anything usefull being offered to the community by any of the people puking on the floor in Bryces general direction and calling it conversation.

Cliff, Tim and anyone else who didnt flame bryce, please realize I am excluding you from this, you did not flame him, and I value your opinion and insight.

If you dont like what he does you have two choices, be a role model and help him find the right path or do nothing. If you arnt mature enough to choose one of those two then youre the one who should not be here.

If this was a thread about someone trying to learn, I would agree with you guys.
But it was about someone trying to sell a Pack. Thats not sellable.
Its not attacking!

@B.A.G - When did I say I made a game? You would understand more, if you had once taken Bryce serioulsy then learned that he inflates his stories.

Just read this thread from the top again. No one is against Bryce guys, just what he was trying to sell.

Who knew Bryce was 12 years old until this thread? I didnt!
