Now please note, I don't own Torque yet(I have to wait for my inexperienced team to fall on their face while trying to make a custom engine first :D), but it seems to me that the best place to start would be the free, online documentation : www.garagegames.com/developer/torque/tge/. Just click that link and scroll down to 'Scripting Documentation' and Advanced Scripting Tutorials.

The best and most current book out right now for TorqueScript is "The Game Programmer's Guide to Torque", by Edward F. Maurina III. It's from GG press and is available at Amazon and I believe here. Comes with CD, and it's a great book.

I have the torue guide prgramming book too. Its helpfull, it shows you how to sue every tool {GUI, paintng, etc....}.
You should get it, i recommend it. It has vehicles, eaterblocks, sound, explosions, almost everything. Also shows you how to amke a game called MazeRunner.

Last April I wrote a blog about the available books for Torque. It is a quick summary of the books and links to them.

I own all three books and I believe they are all worth owning. The game programmers guide to torque is the only book that uses 1.4, but Id check out Ken Finneys books too. They are both thicker than GPGT and have lots of nice examples in them that arent too hard to get working in 1.4.
