Is it just me?

First off, long time - no see to those that know me.
Am I the only one aching to see a new game put up in the games section? You know, one of equal caliber to think tanks, orbz, and marble blast. I follow the blogs here daily, waiting. I see posts about a super secret GG project that has been in the works for many months now, and I get excited.
I know there is alot going on with tool dev and all, and I know GGs focus is to put the tools in our hands so we can make those games I long to see, but GG themselves makes such damn fine games, and I for one would love to see them throw one out.
Im just using this thread as my personal blog, since I dont have blog space and I havent posted here in a very very long time. Dont take offense to this thread, it is totally not meant to be taken that way. Im just frustrated over the lack of xbl arcade games atm, I have bought 6 of them and honestly MBU is the only xbox 360 game I play period. And only UNO being released in the past 3 months = just wow.
Well, back to the last 3 advanced levels on MBU. And whoever did the map design on level 60 is just cruel!

21-6 did a great job with that game, yes.

Venture Africa is good too. You'll also want to try Mount&Blade if you're into RPG's (not by GG, but still good)

1. No other game(s) on GG match the caliber of the three games I mentioned. This is not a matter of opinion, its a matter of math.
2. Im not looking for a game to play, there are plenty out there. Im just looking for the GG post one day that introduces another GG game.
It has been ~6 years since inception, 3 strong caliber games, I can hope right?

Thanks for the recommendations, however two points were missed:1. No other game(s) on GG match the caliber of the three games I mentioned. This is not a matter of opinion, its a matter of math.

I think dismissing Lore: Dark Horizons, and Minions of Mirth (a successful massively multiplayer RPG created with Torque) is a mistake. And Orbz was NOT done by GarageGames. It was done by 21-6. And ThinkTanks wasn't done by GarageGames either, but by a studio later merged into GarageGames. So Marble Blast is the only GG-produced game you've mentioned.
BTW, my company is releasing a game for XBLA *very soon* (as in "any day now") called "Cloning Clyde." Not done with Torque, it's our in-house engine. It's our second game for XBLA, the first being "Outpost Kaloki X." Cloning Clyde is very, very different from OKX, though.

I think with Venture Africa getting onto Wal*Mart store shelves that one might have a bit of math behind it. We'll see. But success of a game is as much a matter of marketing as it is the quality of the game.

First of all, Ill be the first one to buy Cloning Clyde, looks sweet. I just bought Kaloki like 5 minutes ago, very cool game. Ok, lets move on.
I use "math" in this scenario to simply mean "sales". Of course, it is all just a matter of opinion. I think Tribes one was the best fps ever, but CS had way more sales. In case you didnt already know, if you click on the products tab and view the list, from top to bottom = highest sales to lowest sales. At the top we see the TGE, TT, MBU, and Orbz. This is simply what I meant as "caliber".
Also, I know what companies made what products. I worked for 21-6 for a brief period until some serious family altercations forced me back to a day job with nice health insurance. I know Bravetree created TT and then recently merged into GG. Ive been a hardcore fan of Jeff and Mark since November 1998 when Dynamix released Tribes One. Point being, I am not some whiny brat getting bored of a game after 5 minutes and wanting something new every other day.
When I long for GG to make a game, I am not talking about how they just made MBU. Im referring to how the people they have now have created some awesome games, and Id love to see that talent pump out another one.
Oh yea, about your last paragraph, maybe you can clear something up. I check xblarcade.com and majornelson.com several times a day waiting for news of ANY game. Frogger was added to the "recent additions" page on xbox.com on Sunday, then they put the release date to "coming soon" on Thursday. Alot of people are quite edgy, this is no secret. Arcade players have not had anything new to choose from lately. You said that cloning clyde is any day now. Does that mean that it will be up in the arcade any day now, or that Microsoft approves of the final build any day now, since no doubt the two are not one in the same.

I would be a little hesitant to grade the quality (or caliber) of a game based strictly upon the number of sales it's received at GG's own site. That will obviously favor older titles, and those with the closest affilitation / promotion within GG. I'm not saying those don't represent some of the best games available from the community on the engine. But comparing Minions of Mirth with Think Tanks is sort of an apples-to-oranges comparison. The same caliber? Maybe not in sales (though WE DON'T KNOW - Josh hasn't revealed sales numbers or how much he's making with the advertising model), but I'd say Minions of Mirth is a far more ambitious title.
I'm just trying to make sure the other indies (or TGE as an engine) don't get sold short :) Yes, I agree it's a little disheartening that TGE-powered games aren't topping the indie sales charts everywhere by now. It's a little frustrating how many TGE products get announced yet never see the light of day. But there are some really good ones trickling out.

The last I heard (a week ago), it was in final approval. I haven't heard if it's been approved yet or not. We *think* it'll go this time, of course, and as of last week we hadn't heard of any show-stoppers.I would be a little hesitant to grade the quality (or caliber) of a game based strictly upon the number of sales it's received at GG's own site. You will soon see a new PC title from GarageGames, but if you are expecting TT, Orbz, and MB, you will be disappointed. Also, remember that we have been instrumental in working with Kevin Ryan on Puzzle Poker, which is actually branded as a GG title. We are working on a new title that I['m sure will keep you happy, but it will be for XBLA first, and the time frame is "out there". Of course we are game makers, but we also have a huge duty to keep our engines updated and continue to expand the market for indie developers.-Jeff Tunnell, GG
