I am mad. There is a virus that appears to be sweeping across the nation ever since around june 20. It downloads adware, spyware, and even a hiijacker onto your computer. It sets your home page to www.syssecuritysite, and when you try to change it in internet options it changes right back to syssecuritysite right when you press ok. it has fake antivirus software that if you download it will make it worse. I tried PestTrap and it loaded even more and asked for money to buy the full product and get rid of the virus (i think its called ransomware). Please help! I am running Norton as i speak but it hasnt found anything in 2 hours!

Do not go onto www.syssecuritysite.com
Do not download PestTrap
Do not download MalwareWipe
Do not download The Spy Gaurd
Do not download Brave Sentry
Do not download AdProtect

Do not download any software that you have doubts about, and if you get a popup saying that your computer is infected, windows does not naturally do that. It is fake.

Disconnect your modem/router until you have removed/cleaned all the problem files.

You should try adaware. you can get it here
www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html

It works very well for killing adware/spyware.

Also, to fix hijacked browsers (I.E. New hopepage) run Microsoft AntiSpyware or whatever they call it now. Removing Hijacked browers are really all it's good for.

I hate when people post stuff like this, makes me so tempted to download it and see if my system gets infected or if my anti-virus/adaware will protect me.

Does anyone know the formal ID of this virus? I would like to know if x64 OS's are affected.
