Can any1 get Control Pad input to work with latest TGB version?

by Leroy Frederick · in Torque Game Builder · 06/26/2006 (9:25 am) · 5 replies

I've posted this in the bug report forum since my code hasn't changed since RC1+ (in which case it was working), but just in case i'm wrong (in which case i'll request a delete), has any1 got joystick/pad input working with the latest version?

code sample here: www.garagegames.com/mg/forums/result.thread.php?qt=46681

Feel free to drop a sprinkle of code if you can as I really would like to include pad input in my game ;) Thanks in advance!

So no one using pads then? Just mouse and keyboard? 'Wind whistling and tumble weed' on the pad thing huh? Anybody got pads working in pro 1.1.0 or not bothered either way?

The only controller I've tested was the XB360 controller, and that was with Beta 3, I think. I have it working in TGE, though.

If you scroll down in this forum, someone had a similar problem with joysticks. The solution is also posted.

I'm using gamepads for input in TGB pro and its working fine. I didnt have to change anything from previous versions. Oh, remember to put the stuff in your prefs file in your new installation folder or the joystick/gamepads wont work!

Yeeeeaah James, that did it, nice one ;)

@David: No, i meant normal PC gamepads, thanks all the same though :)

@Mike: Yeah, i saw that, but like i said, my setup is similar to that thread example and it worked thats why i knew it was something else. Thanks :)

@all: Well my Logitech Wingman Cordless is playing up a bit (button input and Up/Left diagonal movement), but still got some tweaks and stuff to try). Cheap pads working greak (PC Line tournament ps1 clone)! Thanks for the help guys :=)
