Problem comipling SDK 1.4.2

by hex3n · in Torque Game Engine · 06/26/2006 (4:53 am) · 8 replies

I just purchased a copy of the SDK, after I download and tired to install it, I got an error.

chmod a+x TorqueGameEngineSDK-1.4.2-RC1.bin
./TorqueGameEngineSDK-1.4.2-RC1.bin
Segmentation fault

I'm somewhat new to Linux, but I have only seen this error when the download is corrupted, I tired downloading the SDK 3 times from 2 different computers. I installed the demo and it works great so ehhhhh ^.

Specs-:

Fedora Core 5
Nvidia GeForce 7300 GS // Driver 1.0-8762
kernel 2.6.16-1.2126_FC5smp

The ".bin" distribution was fine for me (SuSE 10, kernel 2.6.13-15). Looks like broken download...
Try getting a fresh CVS, it worked fine for me also.

I downloaded the SDK and it worked great. Not sure why it would seq fault unless it was like bank indicated and you did not get the whole thing. If you did, then I am not sure. I used to use Fedora, but had problems and moved to Debian for what it is worth. Not the latest and greatest stuff, but it does work.

I had the same problem with Fedora Core 5... couldn't get it fixed.

I installed Ubuntu and everything worked fine.

Yeah, I decided to throw Kubunut on a hard drive and the SDK runs great.

Segfault is a problem with the installer, there is an export you can use.

This was a problem in 1.3 as well
