Is every vertex weight-painted? did you set 'deform' on the dummy bone (which the purpose is solely moving character up/down)?
I had similar problem that's because 2 vertices were left unpainted.
Hope this helps.

It could be caused by various reasons. I recommend to use bone-enveloping method as it is easier to create vertex group. Check blender wiki for more information. Is every vertex weight-painted? did you set 'deform' on the dummy bone (which the purpose is solely moving character up/down)?

I got it fixed, i redid the armature and assigned the vertices to the bone instead of using the envelope method. Thanks for your reply and help

Im using blender3d, the model was at about 1100 in quads, does torque automaticly convert them to tris?

Torque doesn't. But your exporter may.

try exporting without the bones and load it into ShowTool, if you still have this problem then you got to many polys. If you don't then some of your bones might be controlling more than one part of your body
PS. make sure you got three sided polygons.
