Creating Soldat clone

Hi all!
Newbie here :)
Just bought T2D almost entirely so that I perhaps could create a Soldat "clone" for the MacOSX...
Got some questions though:
Is it possible to animate my Player using som sort of polygons so that I could use physics when the player is hit by bullets or for death "anims"? I.e I want to be able to simulate the players physics so its more "lifelike" than just use animations or static sprites?
Just to be clear: some sort of "bones-system" ie arms is 2 pieces(over and under) each, chest etc etc. connected with joints. Is there any way joints can be used and if so, can one set max angles between joints and so forth?
Can this be done in T2D as is or do I need to go into C++ hacking to get it to work?
A for the multiplayer part: are there any good solutions for realtime networking for T2d yet?
Hoping its not to tricky questions :)
I'm happy to finally have taken the step and purchased T2D and I'm looking forward to many long nights in this exellent program
Cheers all!
