Question about mounting objects.

I hope I can clearly explain this as it has the potential to be confusing: I have a situation where I want to mount an object at a point other than the object to be mounted's "0 0" location. Does this makes sense?
So in other words, just as you can specify a link point on the object to which you're going to mount something, I'm wanting to do the same thing on the object to be mounted to said object but I can't find any way to do it. Is this possible? Am I just missing something really obvious?
I hope this isn't too confusing.

Alex: If I'm understanding you correctly, those are the locations in the "object to be mounted to's" space, right? As opposed to the mountee, as I guess it would be called. ;)

Yes, local space vs. world space. See this thread for more info & questions: www.garagegames.com/mg/forums/result.thread.php?qt=45750
