Midhir is correct if you want an Atlas terrain. Otherwise you can make your terrain in TGE (which I assume you must have if you have TSE) and then just copy it over.

Midhir , i agree ,.chu and .tqt files r required for terrain in TSE . but if u see starter.fps and starter.racing demo in TSE have .ter has its terrain file there is no atlas terrain used for those demos. how is that possible . Dave , i have tried importing ter file from tge to tse , it doesn't work.

It should work as TGE 1.4 has been included in M3 of TSE. I can't imagine they would go to the trouble of removing support for the legacy terrain, it seems a lot of probably unnecessary work for the port.

Roshan, I don't have TGE on this machine (it's newish) so can't check it out for you with the latest TSE. But as you say, the fps uses a standard terrain file, it was one of the first things I removed when I bought TSE so that I could use Atlas. Maybe somebody with both engines installed can help you out. It should work as TGE 1.4 has been included in M3 of TSE. I can't imagine they would go to the trouble of removing support for the legacy terrain, it seems a lot of probably unnecessary work for the port.

What Dave means here is that MS3 has received an update based on TGE 1.4 - not that TGE 1.4 has been included in M3 of TSE. TSE is essentially based on TGE *but* with the extra features that make TSE, TSE.

So I presume you are running M2 as you are getting a different message!
BTW just in case you are concerned, it *is* TSE M3 despite what it says to me, as Atlas works fine and the lighting is crap

Heh, well funny enough after Stefan's comment above, when I run the same command in M3 it tells me I have TGE 1.4 not TSE at all :-)))))So I presume you are running M2 as you are getting a different message!
